Employee Lifecycle
Keep people records, onboarding and reviews on track.
Employee Lifecycle keeps core people records: employees, job roles, onboarding and offboarding tasks, performance reviews and employee documents. New employees get an onboarding task, employees marked leaving get an offboarding task and their manager is asked to confirm handover, incomplete reviews are marked overdue after their due date, and documents are marked expiring soon 30 days before they expire.

Who it is for
For small companies that need an employee record and lifecycle tasks before buying a full HR platform. It follows the shape of BambooHR and HiBob, but it is an independent package, not an integration with either product.
- Keep employee, role and document records in one place
- Open onboarding and offboarding tasks automatically
- Review overdue performance reviews and expiring documents
What it does not do
There is no payroll, benefits, time-off accrual or e-signature. Records hold personal data, so limit access to the people team. The assistant reads records but cannot change employment details.
Getting started
After installing, these steps take you from example data to your own.
- After installation, set up job roles and replace the example employees with your team.
- Add new hires. Each new employee gets an onboarding task for their manager to plan.
- Record performance review due dates and document expiry dates so both are flagged in time.
- Start the review workflow to ask the read-only assistant about overdue reviews or expiring documents.
Common questions
Does Employee Lifecycle run payroll?
No. It stores employee records and lifecycle tasks. Payroll and benefits stay in your payroll provider.
Can the assistant change employee records?
No. It reads the package tables, cites the rows behind each finding and marks unknowns. The people team decides any change and makes any record changes.

Identify the employees, team or task set named in the request and report matching records by status.\n2. List open onboarding or offboarding tasks with their owner. Name new starters with open tasks after their start date.\n3. List performance reviews by due date and status and name overdue ones.\n4. Name documents expiring within 60 days. Never reveal fields the request does not need, and never infer personal details.\n5. Propose follow-ups for the people team.\n\n## Reading budget\n\nThe assistant reads Employees, People tasks, Performance reviews, and a review holds about 30,000 characters of tool results. Inspect each table once, only when the request needs it, starting with Employees. Read this skill and each schema once; never repeat a read whose result is already in the conversation. Use rows.summarize for counts and filtered rows.list queries with a limit of 20 or fewer for evidence. Keep the final answer under 350 words.\n\n## Automations\n\n- **Open onboarding**: when an employee is created, an open onboarding task is added for their manager to plan.\n- **Open offboarding**: when an employee is marked Leaving, an offboarding task is added and the manager is asked to confirm handover and access removal.\n- **Flag overdue performance reviews**: the morning after an incomplete review’s due date, it is marked Overdue.\n- **Flag expiring documents**: thirty days before a document expires, it is marked Expiring soon.\n\n## Review boundaries\n\n- Rows whose title starts with \"Example:\" are sample data.
